Lion’s Eye: Portable Eye Imaging Device

LION’S EYE PROJECT BRIEF

Eye-imaging technology is generally expensive and is fixed to the location of the optometrist or medical practitioner. There are limited options available in remote and rural areas with limited access to these medical centres. The aim of the project is to create a portable eye-imaging device that can take multiple images of the eye used in basic medical and optical assessment.

THE DESIGN

The key feature of the Lion’s Eye design was the integration of six different imaging attachments into the one portable device. In fixed establishments these imaging functions are performed with six different machines, and the design team managed to produce a design that incorporated them into a singular compact device.
